Create a new household to organize related clients for comprehensive family-based financial planning.

Overview
Households allow advisors to group related clients together for streamlined family-based management. Each household can have one assigned advisor and multiple clients. Households help organize family relationships and provide a structured approach to family financial planning.
Workflow
You must be logged in as an advisor to complete the following steps.

Navigate to a client's details page where you want to create a household.
Missing PermissionsIf you receive a message stating you do not have the appropriate permissions to view the page, please contact your administrator and request
householdspermissions. -
Click on the
Householdstab in the client details page. -
Click the
+ Create Householdbutton in the top-right corner of the Households section. -
Fill out the household creation form:
- Household Name: Enter a descriptive name for the household (required)
- Description: Provide additional details about the household's composition (optional)
- Advisor: Select the advisor who will manage this household (required)
- Status: Choose whether the household should be active or inactive (defaults to active)

Click the
Create Householdbutton to save the new household. -
The current client will automatically be added to the new household, and you'll be redirected to the household details page.
Household Properties
Required Fields
- Household Name: A unique, descriptive name for the household
- Advisor: The advisor responsible for managing this household
Optional Fields
- Description: Additional context about the household's composition or focus
- Status: Whether the household is active (can be used) or inactive (archived)
Best Practices
- Use descriptive household names that clearly indicate the family composition
- Add meaningful descriptions to help other team members understand the household's focus
- Ensure the assigned advisor has the necessary permissions to manage the household
- Consider creating households based on family relationships, life stages, or wealth levels
