Overview

The Edit Household functionality allows advisors to update household information, reassign advisors, and modify household settings. This ensures household data remains accurate and up-to-date as family circumstances change.

Accessing Edit Household

From Household Details Page

  1. Navigate to the household details page
  2. Click the Edit Household button in the top-right corner
  3. The edit modal will open with current household information

From Client Details Page

  1. Navigate to any client's details page
  2. Click on the Households tab
  3. Click View Details on the household you want to edit
  4. Click the Edit Household button

Edit Household Form

Editable Fields

Household Name

  • Current Value: Displays the existing household name
  • New Value: Enter the updated household name
  • Validation: Name is required and must be unique
  • Best Practice: Use descriptive names that clearly identify the household

Description

  • Current Value: Shows the existing description
  • New Value: Enter updated description text
  • Optional Field: Can be left empty if not needed
  • Best Practice: Provide context about household composition or focus

Advisor Assignment

  • Current Advisor: Displays the currently assigned advisor
  • Advisor Selection: Choose a new advisor from the dropdown
  • Required Field: Must select an advisor
  • Best Practice: Ensure the new advisor has appropriate permissions

Status

  • Current Status: Shows whether household is active or inactive
  • Status Options:
    • Active: Household is operational and can be used
    • Inactive: Household is archived but not deleted
  • Best Practice: Use inactive status instead of deletion when possible

  1. Access Edit Form: Click the Edit Household button
